Bio-Ferm® XR

XR is NABC’s standard performance active dried yeast (ADY) derived from a Non-GMO Strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Ethanol Producers have learned to depend on this product’s performance and consistency as XR is used by more producers than any other product on the market.

NABC performs standard quality control on this product and occasional stress testing. This yeast is ideally suited for the batch production of fuel, beverage, and industrial alcohol. Bio-Ferm® XR demonstrates above average fermentation characteristics in terms of its ability to tolerate high temperatures, high solids (osmotic stress), and ethanol toxicity.

Bio-Ferm® XR is an Active Dried Yeast which boasts a high viable cell count. XR has demonstrated the ability to aggressively ferment higher solids in whole mash and may be used with a variety of substrates such as: corn, milo, wheat, molasses, citrus molasses, cassava, fructose syrup, and wet milling starch streams.

  • Low Moisture level (95% solids).
  • Greater than 18 billion viable cells/gram (1.8 x 1010).
  • Osmotic Tolerance (plant) consistently 36% corn solids.
  • Wide temperature range and has shown the ability to tolerate brief temperature spikes up to 105° F
  • (41° C) early in commercial fermentations without suffering yield loss.
  • Short rehydration and lag time.

Compatible with all enzyme systems, particularly new generation alpha-amylases, which allow higher solids through mash viscosity reduction.

Bio-Ferm® XP

is NABC’s newest uniquely produced proprietary high performance yeast derived from a Non-GMO Strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. XP is a premium yeast that is optimally suited for the batch production of fuel, beverage, and industrial alcohol. Bio-Ferm® XP demonstrates exceptional fermentation characteristics in terms of its ability to tolerate high temperatures, high solids (osmotic stress), and ethanol toxicity.

Bio-Ferm® XP is NABC’s Premium, Highest Performance Dry Yeast manufactured to the industry’s highest standard. Benefits of XP Premium Yeast when compared to XR and other conventional yeasts:

  • XP demonstrates an aggressive mid-to-late fermentation kinetic in laboratory testing and commercial process studies. This unique kinetic fosters competitive exclusion of infectious bacteria in mid to late fermentation when control is difficult.
  • XP consistently provides a more “complete” fermentation in laboratory testing and commercial process studies by depletion of available carbohydrates.
  • NABC performs very comprehensive quantitative and qualitative quality assurance on XP to offer industry leading consistency and reproducibility when used in ethanol fermentation.
  • In the production of XP, NABC utilizes its SYNER-G Manufacturing Process, whereby it effectively controls the propagation, nutrient profile, and other production parameters to offer a product that is optimally suited to withstand the stress factors commonly associated with ethanol production

Bio-Ferm® CF

is a uniquely produced proprietary strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae developed for its cell morphology and physiology which are ideally suited for reproduction and alcohol production in continuous fermentation systems. CF is a high performance active dried yeast (ADY) derived from a Non-GMO Strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

When compared to other “Continuous” and “new generation” yeasts:

  • CF demonstrates the unmatched ability to reproduce itself well and continue fermentation for long periods of time without re-inoculating the pre-fermentor.
  • CF has greater performance and resilience primarily because of its large cell wall surface area, density, and its ability to replenish unsaturated fatty acids to the cell wall depleted by multiple daughter cell generation.
  • CF’s greater cell wall surface area allows for multiple budding scars while maintaining permeability – which facilitates optimal carbohydrate and nutrient uptake.
  • In the production of CF, NABC utilizes its SYNER-GManufacturing Process, whereby it effectively controls the propagation, nutrient profile, and other production parameters to offer a product that is optimally suited to withstand the stress factors commonly associated with ethanol production.
