Garry grew up in the Akron, Ohio area. Upon graduation from high school, Garry went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a laboratory technician in a synthetic latex pilot plant. While working for Goodyear, he attended Akron University. He then was accepted into Goodyear’s Apprenticeship program and graduated 4 years later as a Journeyman Pipefitter.

Garry left Goodyear in 1983 to run his own business for 15 years in the recreation and tourism industry. It was in this capacity that he developed skills in customer service and relations. After a brief period of retirement, he joined NABC in 2005 in a sales role. As he expanded his ethanol technical knowledge, he was moved into his current field support role that includes onsite training and support for startup and existing ethanol plants.
